Kish Free Trade Zone became a member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), said the zone’s deputy director.

Alireza Qaedian added that Kish Free Trade Zone is the first Iranian FTZs to join the world’s biggest tourism organization, ISNA wrote.

The decision was officially made at the 109th UNWTO Executive Council session in Bahrain.

The session discussed several topics pertaining to the global tourism sector.

Representatives from 35 countries, including ministers and ambassadors, attended the landmark event in Bahrain.

Iran’s Kish Island in the Persian Gulf, with its white sand beaches and coral reefs, has long been a major destination for Iranian and foreign tourists.

Kish has one of the least dangerous coasts in the world. It has gorgeous white sandy beaches for leisure strolls.
